Amid long dry spell, 74 sporadic forest fires in Goa in early March, Rajya Sabha told

32 fire incidents reported in state's three wildlife sanctuaries, MoS Ashwini Kumar Choubey tells House.

The Centre on Thursday said 74 “sporadic” fire incidents were reported across Goa in the first fortnight of March, of which 32 fires were reported in the state's three wildlife sanctuaries.

The government informed Rajya Sabha that these recent forest fires were largely triggered by a “prolonged dry spell, unprecedented high temperatures, and low humidity”.
